When Michael Schumacher took the chequered flag at the end of the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka Circuit on 8 October 2000, it put an end to two decades of tears and frustration for Scuderia Ferrari. Yes, the Italian team had won the Constructors’ title the previous year, but the Drivers’ crown, the one that really matters, had eluded them since 1979, when South Africa’s Jody Scheckter won the championship.
Michael brought the title home in his red Ferrari F1-2000, sweeping his rivals aside and bringing joy to Tifosi worldwide. Celebrating this extraordinary accomplishment and honouring Michael Schumacher's 50th birthday in 2019, Automobilist created this unique artwork that depicts the historic finish-line scene from a new perspective using our signature state-of-the-art techniques of composing 3D models and digital photography - and for the first time 3D scanning - to create an image of perfect quality with awe-inspiring detail.
